Club's History

The winter of 2003 saw a fresh breeze flown across Civil Quarters Peshawar where a bunch of young players were combined by former Shaheen FC players Shakeel (Striker) and Kashif (Defender) to form a Football club. Even they would have not predicted that this club will be decorated with such success in near future. The club appointed Muhammad Iqbal as their first ever Coach. He was also the creator of Shaheen Football Club way back in 1990 after marching them to their glory days his days ended at the club as controversies force him to leave that club and it was no strange to him that sooner or later he will be sacked but before that he put his resignation to the board of directors who then accepted and allowed him to seek another club. Muhammad Iqbal did not hesitate a second to take over Young Shaheen Football Club as Coach. The revenge was always there on his mind to raise a club against his former  club and reigning champions Shaheen FC.

In 2004 the club officially registered with Football Association of Peshawar. Soon the Home kit was released and Light blue colour was chosen. There were huge expectation from this club and the Civil Quarters ground at their disposal they lived upto that expectation. Muhammad Iqbal (Coach) call the first ever summer training camp as District league was there to be kicked off in the month of June. After few weeksof hard training the club saw their first match against United FC but could only face disappointment as they lost 2-0. The second and third game also produces the same result but the forth game was fruitful in a sense that Young Shaheen drew their match but was not enough to carried them to next round.

The summer of 2005 was also the disappointed one as the Young Guns could not secured a second round place. Lost their first game in District league and then went on to draw three games in a row which ousted them from the League but were highly appreciated by the peoples and organizers of the tournament based on their performance and attractive style of play.

The expectation from the club were on the high in the summer league of 2006. The opening game was the cruel one despite being the better side YSFC went on to lose their match. The remaining two matches were must to win and they did it in style by brushing aside the New National football club in their second group match and then cruising pass Waqar FC. The club did qualify for the next round but were extremely unlucky as the organizers of the tournament were forced to end the tournament due to some domestic affairs. In the same year the club were asked for participation in Mardan tournament Young Shaheen Football club kicked off the tournament is grand style as they went on to beat Mardan FC and Malakand FC to reach the Quarter finals of the tournament but their joy were short lifted by a well organized Dir FC side who then crashed the Young guns out of the tournament.

The summer of 2007 and 2008 were hit out by politicians. Not a single league were organized in these 2 year and the club then decided to take part in an Outstation tournament. Nowshera district then organized a tournament on knock out base. YSFC did took part in the league but only to their disappointment that they went on their first game and were knocked out by Nowshera Football Club. The reason behind such poor performance was the monopoly of some senior players to oust the Club Coach Muhammad Iqbal. His strict nature and his favour for Young players was never going to be a good thing for him as senior players were always on his back for not giving that much importance to them. This behavior of senior players force the Coach to resign from the club.

2009 was the beginning of new era in the Club's history. YSFC participated in the Baba Kamal Tournament and Young guns were fully blazed knocking out United FC, New National FC and Waqar Club before making their way into the Semis. In Semi final YSFC met King Star Football Club. It was always going to be a hard fought game. At the end of the day there was a dark for King Star FC as they were ousted by YSFC and YSFC make it through to the final. The stage was set for them as their opponents were their arch-rivals Shaheen FC but once again the politics were involved. Senior players never wanted to win this game as they were having soft corners for their arch-rivals but on the other hand Young players of the club were hungry for glory. In the end it was decided by the Manager that the match to be played on poor tempo to help Shaheen FC win the game easily without giving them tough time. Young Shaheen as expected went on to lose the final 3-0 and were awarded runners up trophy.

In the same year Police tournament was organized in the loving memories of their martyred policemen. YSFC also participated but the result was always going to be poor as the politics once again played a big role. YSFC went on to draw their opening two games against New National FC and Zaryab FC.  Third game was decisive one but unfortunately it was against their Arch-rivals Shaheen FC and they lost again to them because of the on-going monopoly at the club.

The beginning of 2010 was not the one that was expected from this club. The club participated in an outstation tournament in Charsadda district which was organized on knocked out basis and YSFC were knocked out in their very first game.

The summer of 2010 was shown with a welcome return of District league tournament. Being one of the best club of Peshawar Region YSFC were invited to play a show-off match. The game ended in disappointment for Young Guns as they lost 2-0. The tournament officially kick off and YSFC make a great come back and won their opening 4 games before making their way into the Quarter finals.
