Date confirmed for Big Clash


Young Shaheen Football Club were today confirmed by the Football Association of Peshawar that their Quarter Finals clash will be held on Monday the 5th of July 2010 at Shahi Bagh Stadium Peshawar against Zaryab FC. The battle is considered to be the titanic one as both sets of players are adolescence.

Just like Young Shaheen FC, Zaryab FC also has young blood in their club and with the experience of their club captain and former international player Gohar Zaman they could well be kept on terms with the in-form YSFC. 

YSFC Manager Gohar Iqbal was quoted by our official media Geo Sports TV : "The confidence is sky high we rested some key players but we will never under estimate the likes of Zaryab FC. They have fought hard and reaches the Quarter Finals and no team will under estimates any opposition who has make it that far ".

Defender Returned with a Goal

Defender (Ehtisham) played full 90 minutes on his return from vacation and he could have not asked for a better start scoring the 3rd and decisive goal of the match in only 30th min. His goal prove to be the vital one as Young Guns secure a 3-2 win over their local club New National. As expected there were many changes in the starting line up ahead of their Quarter final game on Monday 5th of July 2010.

The match was played on home turf. Manager Young Shaheen FC did not hesitate to rest his key players.  Play maker Kamran Sarfaraz received a surprise call from his Manager but instead of Midfield he was placed in between the sticks. Academy players Sarmad (ST)  Jalal (ST) Jawad Shah (RB)  were called upon from the very start to fulfill the boots of rested players.

Young Shaheen FC got off to a flying start and in just 10th min of the Academy player impresses the boss with a brilliant goal. Soon after the goal few attacks were made by New National FC but futile. The second goal arrived on 25th min when a mistake from the defender let the Club's top scorer Masood Shah free on goal and he did not take second invitation as he struck the ball into the back of the net.  After just 5 min Central Defender Ehtisham scored a header from the corner kick. The goal for the hard working defender came after a long long time. 1st half was completely dominated by Young Shaheen FC.

YSFC hope to carry the same momentum at the start of the second half but New National club has had other ideas. They worked hard and were soon rewarded for their efforts as Veteran Defender brought down the opposition player in his own penalty box, the referee was spot on to judge it and rewarded a penalty to New National FC. Their striker sent the goal keeper wrong way and reduced the defecate to 3-1. 

Young Shaheen defenders were soon made again into action as their strikers and midfielders combines well to trouble YSFC defenders. Defenders of YSFC made another mistake on 60th minute which led to the second goal of New National FC. Manager of YSFC made some changes and Kamran Sarfaraz was call to fulfill the duties in midfield to restore the stability. New National tried hard to level things up but the game ended 3-2 in favour of Young Shaheen FC.

Friendly Game Announced

Young Shaheen Football Club yesterday announced to organize a friendly game ahead of their Quarter Final clash with Zaryab FC. The match is played for preparation purpose on Friday the 2nd July 2010. It promises to be a fascinating clash and will be a good test for the Young Guns to impress their Coach & Manager for the one last time on home turf ahead of their Quarter Final clash. The match is being played in Civil Quarters Ground, Peshawar - home of Young Shaheen Football Club.

YSFC are expected to make some changes and also to rest some of their Key players. Defender Ehtisham is back from vacations whereas injuries to Naveed Hameed (LB) and Kamran Sarfraz (CM) might well not allow them to take part in their friendly.

Rumours: Striker Deal ON

Shaheen Football Club Striker Waheed Hameed has rejected rumors he could extend his contract but has also expressed a move to his Childhood Club Young Shaheen Football Club.

The player was brought up in the academy of Young Shaheen FC but in the summer of 2006 he signed a contract with local rivals Shaheen FC. During his stay at the club he has enjoy many success but were short lifted when controversially he was not selected for GEO League. This created a ROW between the player and the manager.

The 17-year-old insists he will link up with his new teammates next month once he receives official call from his former club Young Shaheen FC.
"I am joining Young Shaheen. I have signed for four years. I repeat No Pre-agreement. A real contract" Waheed told Geo Sports

"Everything is in order since in the last two years I have played 75 per cent of the matches for my National side. Next I am looking forward to my former Club.

Young Guns cruise to Quarter Finals



Young Shaheen Football Club cruised pass FR Kohat 3-1 and make their way to the Quarter Finals. This was their fourth victory in a row. The team displayed another outstanding performance with their manager being the happiest of the most.

The game kicked off under hot circumstances at 5:00 on Sunday 27th June 2010. FR Kohat were consider to be the visiting team and did not took long to settle themselves. Young Shaheen FC did look nervy at the start but as the game progressed they got hold of the ball even more and more.
 
The opening goal arrived at 20th minute went the Goal keeper of FR Kohat club miss judged the cross from Masood Shah and the ball went straight into the net. The goal from Masood was his 3rd in as many games in this tournament. As the game progressed Young Shaheen shared fair amount of possession and were soon rewarded with another goal when Alam Shareef struck right on the stroke of Half time. First half ended 2-0 in favour of Young Shaheen FC.

When second half kicked off it was expected that FR Kohat will attack. After several attacks the moment arrived for them and a goal was scored by them but their happiness were soon spoiled when another mistake was made by their Goal Keeper who made a bizarre mistake and gifted the ball to Young Shaheen striker right in-front of the 6 yard box. Alam made no mistake and restored two goal lead.

It was all then the visiting team as they tried to level up again but futile. The visitors look promising in the second half but every time they were let down by their Goal Keeper as in the 60th min of the game he again miss judged a free kick which provided an opportunity for Masood Shah to score his 4th goal of the tournament. The striker have been in rich form at the moment for Young Shaheen FC. After the 3rd goal there was never a way back though the visitors did all their best but the game ended in lost form them 3-1 .
